OLE FRIMER BAND
Danish Grammy Award Winner
The Danish singer, song writer and guitarist, Ole Frimer, is the former front man in the Danish top flight blues band, Blue Junction, with whom he achieved two North American Real Blues Awards and a Danish Grammy Award. Besides, he has worked for several years with the late Peter Thorup (Alexis Corner, Snape and others)
In 2008 he formed his present project, Ole Frimer Band, consisting of some of the very best and most experienced musicians in Scandinavia. The band has launched a new original style, rooted in the blues, and with elements of rock, jazz and fusion.
His trade mark is his unorthodox “flesh to string”- technique, inspired mainly by Albert Collins, Jim Messina and Jeff Beck, but still all his own.
Ole Frimer Band has successfully been touring northern Europe, and is one of the most demanded blues bands here, giving concerts at several of the big festivals, including Blues Baltica Festival (D), Notodden Blues Festival (N), Skanderborg Festival (DK), Malmö Festival (S), Roskilde Jazz Festival (DK), Copenhagen Blues Festival (DK) and many more.
His latest album “Live at Blues Baltica”, recorded in Germany and released 2016, was nominated a Danish Music Award for “blues album of the year”.
